Technicians from Toyota Centres throughout Northern Ireland recently attended an intense 2x1 day New Model Training course provided by the Toyota Academy based at Northern Regional College’s Farm Lodge campus Ballymena. The Toyota Academy provides Toyota Technicians with the expert skills and knowledge to service and maintain this highly technically advanced vehicle technology. Based on Toyotas recent investment in numerous new safety features on the Toyota Prius and Hybrid Rav4 that are set to be released to the market soon, a training session was provided to upskill all Toyota technicians.

Career Ready aims to provide young people (16-19 years) with a curriculum and guidance necessary to build rewarding careers and fulfilling lives. It does this by combining a rigorous industry validated curriculum for students with leading edge practice in education and business link activity.
Continue ReadingOver 40 counsellors recently attended a briefing session at the Northern Regional College, Newtownabbey campus, outlining requirements for supervising trainee counsellors on part-time counselling programmes. At Northern Regional College, we provide an extensive suite of part-time counselling qualifications, ranging from levels 2-6. This includes a Foundation Degree in Counselling, and a Level 4 certificate in Counselling studies (both are validated by Ulster University). We also offer a number of courses via CPCAB, the only awarding body in Europe to specialise in counselling qualifications. Many of the qualifications include a module on supervised practice. This briefing session provided counsellors with the knowledge required to enable them to supervise Northern Regional College Counselling students.

This industrial visit was incorporated into their Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials Unit to help the students get a better understanding of how materials are processed and tested in local industry.

Visiting 20 schools and colleges over a 2 week period, the main objective in delivering these presentations is to help create awareness around the Technology opportunities that exist within PwC, and to encourage students to study STEM subjects.
