Fantasy, imagination and creativity were the theme for this year’s nail art competition hosted by NRC’s Beauty Therapy students at Ballymena. The event which was organised by NRC Lecturers Leanne Clydesdale and Kelly Brown brought together the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy students, to create a show full of glamour and fun, entitled ‘The wonderful world of Disney’.

Surestart, LEDCOM and NRC celebrated the success of ten local women who completed the first course under the Learner Access & Engagement Programme (LAE) funded by the Department for Employment & Learning. The women enjoyed the accredited 15 week creative craft which involved basic mixed craft skills. A variety of beautiful work was created by the participants including, personalised cushions, bags , a jewellery box, children’s bunting and other bespoke designs and creations.

Top Business Awards for Coleraine Students

Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business students from the Coleraine Campus are awarded top Business Awards in recognition of their achievements. Daniel Laverty was presented and awarded the Moore Concrete Cup and Bursary by Laura McCartney, a representative from Moore Concrete.

Student places are still available on the Prince’s Trust Team spring programme at the Ballymena and the Newtownabbey Campus of the Northern Regional College. The course, which is organised by the College, is open to all young people aged 16-25 years, who are not currently in full-time education, training or employment.

At Northern Regional College, students are prepared to go the distance to acquire motorcycle maintenance qualifications. Two of the eleven students at the Farm Lodge campus Ballymena travel from Tullamore in Co Offaly to take the Motor Institute’s Level 3 Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
