Northern Regional College is celebrating after being crowned one of the winners in the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 2015 Chamber Awards. The College which serves a population of over 429,000 (24%) of the people in Northern Ireland was awarded the ‘Education and Business Partnership’ award for Northern Ireland, having been acknowledged for its work with businesses to help their pupils gain an understanding of the world of work and develop the crucial employability skills that employer’s value.

The Big College Seafood Cook-Off, held at Mourne Seafood Bar and Cookery School in Belfast, was hailed as a celebration of the local seafood industry and set up to inspire future generations to cook more often using seafood.

This is the third year that the group have completed Northern Regional College’s WorldHost retail programme, a flexible 2 day training arrangement which focuses on the principles of customer service, targeting new customers, and improvement of sales techniques. Each employee that completed this bespoke customer service training has achieved a Level 2 certificate and is eligible to wear the WorldHost pin badge, which recognises their customer service excellence. Almost 50% of the Kenny’s Group staff have achieved this high standard of training and can be found wearing their pin badge.
