Continue ReadingNorthern Regional College hosted their annual Infofest (Freshers’ Week) event on each campus at the start of term which allowed students to gain vital information on key issues relating to College life and personal development. Each year the event just gets bigger and better. Throughout the week many organisations took time to speak with students and advise them on topics important to young adults continuing their education. Organisations included local banks, fitness and leisure centres, local charities, Royal Navy, Volunteer Now, ChildLine, Translink, local councils, PSNI, and many more external groups who were vital to the events success.

This is the first time in the last three years that anyone from Northern Ireland come within the top 5 in these exams.
Continue ReadingDuring the summer a number of Northern Regional College students obtained entry to their chosen university by achieving top grades in their Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma course. Congratulations to Benjamin Halliday who completed his Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering course at our Newtownabbey Campus. Benjamin achieved overall grades of 1 Distinction* and 2 Distinctions which is equivalent to 3 A Levels at 1 A* and 2 A grades. He is now studying Mechanical Engineering at Ulster University. Continue ReadingStudents and staff at Northern Regional College are set to benefit from €300,000 of funding from EU programme Erasmus+. From September 2016 the funding will be invested in the development of two initiatives: Robotics and Automation in Engineering and Encouraging enterprise and self employment. Staff from Northern Regional College will be building on international links and sharing best practice with partner colleges, employers and start-up agencies from Spain, Portugal, Finland, Romania, Italy and the Czech Republic. The students participating will be eligible to gain a European-wide credit for their learning.
