Special Celebration Events for Northern Regional College Students

Northern Regional College is hosting a series of events to celebrate the achievements of some its remarkable students who completed inclusive learning programmes at the College. Over 120 students and parents, including a group of 20 students from Sandleford School in Coleraine, attended the first event at the College’s Ballymoney campus. Among those to receive certificates of achievements were Lifeskills students who completed entry level awards in ICT, Literacy, Numeracy, Cookery and Independent Travel.

Want to top up your GCSE English or Maths grade? We have introduced short GCSE revision classes starting from Monday 17 September at our Trostan Avenue, Magherafelt and Newtownabbey campus to help you get up to speed for January series of examinations. If you are already enrolled on a full-time course at the College you will only have to pay for the examination fee, for all other students there is an additional tuition fee. Bespoke Training for Tullyglass Staff

Northern Regional College has developed a bespoke training programme to help staff at Tullyglass Hotel continue to deliver exemplary service to guests. Almost forty full-time and part-time staff from across all departments in the popular County Antrim hotel have now completed accredited training programmes in Customer Service and Sales. Both courses were delivered by Hayley Love, a part time lecturer at the College who has a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector.

JAM Cards Welcome at Northern Regional College

Northern Regional College is committed to ensuring that people with learning difficulties or who have problems communicating will always feel welcome at the College. Fifty staff are to undergo JAM card awareness training to help them make users of the card feel welcome across all campuses. The JAM card, which stands for Just A Minute, is a simple but effective innovation aimed at supporting people with learning difficulties and autism.

An Attractive Alternative Route to Career in Accounts

The Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) certificate is an attractive alternative progression route to a career in accounts, according to Newtownabbey mature student, Kathleen Lowry. Kathleen, who works in the Accounts department of West Rock in Mallusk, has just completed the first year of the two year ATI certificate at Northern Regional College’s Magherafelt campus. She says having a recognised accounting qualification will help progress her career.
