From fashion to construction: Local woman builds successful career upon graduation

A Foundation Degree in Building Technology and Management is an ideal steppingstone to a career in the construction industry, according to local woman Stacey Tosh. Stacey, who received the award at Northern Regional College’s annual Higher Education graduation ceremony, is now employed by Mivan as a Graduate Estimator.

Caleb Haines was conferred with the award, which was part of his Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA), at Northern Regional College’s Higher Education graduation at Galgorm’s Great Hall.

Hana Jamieson, aged-18 from Ballynure, and Josh Lynas, also 18 from Belfast, have been putting their Performing Arts studies into action by providing the voiceover for a number of radio adverts, whilst Interactive Media student Benn Cox, aged 23, has been producing the adverts, including writing original backing music and editing the final output.

David Watson, Managing Director of Ryobi Aluminium Casting (UK) Ltd., has received an Honorary Fellowship from Northern Regional College. He is one of four renowned individuals to receive the honour who have had an impact upon the College and the local community. The other recipients are: Katie Mullan of Ireland’s women’s national field hockey team; Gail Redmond, Women’s Domestic Manager for the Irish FA Foundation; and Jimmy Kelly, former Training and Development Manager at RLC Langford Lodge.
