The old adage ‘every day is a school day’ certainly rings true for a group of newly qualified tour guides who have completed their training at Northern Regional College. With a nationally accredited qualification under the belt, they are now poised to benefit from the unprecedented success Northern Ireland is currently enjoying as a tourist destination.

Continue ReadingNorthern Regional College engineering student Tahnee O’Hara has secured a coveted place on the inaugural CDE Talent Camp. Originally from Australia but living in Ardboe for the past two years, Tahnee is doing a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering at the College’s Magherafelt campus. The summer camp will run from 24th - 28th June 2019 at CDE’s state of the art headquarters in Cookstown. At the end of the camp, two of the twenty participants will be offered a paid internship with the company.

The sold-out performance was part of the College’s Creative Industries Showcase, an end of year showcase of courses and student work which spans the industries of: Animation & VFX, Art & Fashion, Creative Media Production, Interactive Digital Media, Digital Games Design and Performing Arts.

First year Level 3 Travel and Tourism Diploma students at Coleraine and Ballymena campuses are celebrating a 100 % success rate in their WorldHost training. During their visit to the historic club, students were presented with their WorldHost certificates and Golf Pro, Gary McNeill spoke to them of some of the challenges and opportunities facing the club as it prepares to host one of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments.

Jonathan Scott, a Level 3 IT student at the Coleraine campus, has qualified for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) national finals and a chance to compete for a coveted place in the World Championships. The MOS Championship is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications.
