The Northern Regional College in partnership with Skillbuild NI has held a College Inter Campus Competition within the School of Built Environment and Design. Skillbuild NI, run by CITB NI, is held annually each spring with the top local construction apprentices competing to win coveted titles ranging from brickwork to wall and floor tiling. The winners may then go on to represent Northern Ireland in the Skills Show UK and potentially at WorldSkills.

Northern Regional College IT and Computing have been visited by local industry experts at the Farm Lodge Campus, Ballymena. The programme was made up of Master Classes and lectures on a range of diverse and exciting opportunities available to students in the world of computing. Students who are part of the IT Career Academy and the Software Professional course received talks from SQS (World leader in Software Quality), Schrader Electronics (Manufacturer of tyre pressure monitors) and McAuley Engineering (manufacturer and supplier of sheet metal parts and components).
