The Fashion show was hosted at the Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown, and was supported by several local companies, enabling the students to showcase an extensive range of ladies’ and gents’ branded clothing, footwear and accessories.
Alyson Scott, NRC Lecturer in Business, commented, “This has been a wonderful experience for our second year HND Business students. It provided them with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge which they have built up during their HND Business Course at Magherafelt Campus. This event was run as part of a module entitled “Working with and Leading People”. The students chose both charities themselves and contacted local companies who were extremely supportive to them, by supplying the clothes and accessories for the models to demonstrate. Many other local companies lent their support through advertising in the programme and without their generosity the students would never have been able to raise the funds for the charities to benefit from. The students worked as a team to plan and organise the entire event, I am very proud of what they have achieved to date.”
The Magherafelt students are hoping that the event will raise as much as £3,000 for the charities once all proceeds have been accounted for.
