Princes Trust Students Celebrate

Monday

Local students along with their family and guests celebrated the end of the Princes Trust programme they have been following with Northern Regional College. This programme offers young people the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Personal Development and Contributing to the Community qualification. Students on the programme participated in outdoor pursuits, team building projects, planning and community projects and had the opportunity to gain experience within a work placement. They developed their skills in preparing CV’s, job applications, interview skills and obtained career advice.

Patrick Davidson, Head of Programmes at the Prince’s Trust congratulated all the young people for their outstanding achievements and praised the hard work and dedication of the NRC and Prince’s Trust staff who have once again shown that the excellent partnership between the two organisations is reaping rewards for the young people as they progress towards further education, training and employment.

Bridget Scott, Princes Trust tutor with NRC continued, "This was an extremely enjoyable event where our students presented their 12 week journey and several of them courageously shared their personal journey with the audience, and emphasised the positive impact that the programme has had on their lives."

The programme which is open to young people aged 16 to 25 encourages team members to think about their futures. The Prince’s Trust Team programme will be running again in September 2015
