During the visit they met NRC Principal, Prof Terri Scott, Ronnie Laverty, Head of Faculty Building, Engineering and Design, Dr Brian Hill, Head of School Engineering & Science and staff from the Advanced Engineering Centre. The visitors explored the skills challenges which the centre’s work seeks to address and to understand the level of engagement the college enjoys with its industrial partners. They were particularly interested in the college’s Advanced CNC Turning and Milling, Robotics and Welding facilities with an emphasis on how the college engineering staff develop and deliver training programmes to ensure that the Advanced Engineering Skills needs are constantly being met.
