The group took part in the relay event in support of the charity, which provides care for the needs of people diagnosed with cancer, along with assistance to their family and supporters.
Team leader and NRC Lecturer Patricia Browne commented, “We entered two teams this year, and had no problem recruiting volunteers to take part in the race, especially when we announced Charis was our agreed charity. Everyone knows someone affected by this disease, and we commend the excellent support provided to sufferers and their families by this amazing charity."
The team runners were Patricia Browne, Julie Seffen, Michelle Downey, Carmel Brolly, Bernard Henry, Dolores Mulholland, Catherine Pegram, Rhian Pegram, Frankie McEldowney & Sean Gunning, and the teams came home in respectable times of 4:27:32 and 4:41:01. Patricia added, “The team wish to extend a very hearty thanks to Saints and Sinners for the fantastic workout on the day. Also to our colleagues, friends and family who provided support in fundraising for the charity and to those who cheered us on along the route during the marathon. To date we have raised over £1500 but would love to see this figure increase."
