Her efforts have paid off as she has won the Institute of Leadership and Management Best Student award for 2014. She gained the highest overall marks in all her assessments to outshine her fellow managers and classmates and achieve this accolade.
Jo explains, “My role at Galgorm Resort & Spa was a front office assistance. I recently received promotion to sales executive, working in a busy environment, organising events for clients, ensuring that sales targets are achieved whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.
Completing the ILM level 3 has given me increased levels of confidence to try new techniques and appreciate areas for my own personal development. I would definitely recommend this course to others as it was both enjoyable and provided excellent knowledge for the workplace.”

Jim Brown, the ILM Course coordinator was especially pleased as she joined her colleague from the same company who won this year’s level 5 award. So Galgorm Manor must be doing something right. He says “With the recession affecting many industries, and job security high on everyone’s agenda, many people are looking to Further Education for management training. It is the perfect way to build confidence, learn new skills and make yourself more employable. In a recent survey of all current students, approximately 20% of students completing the ILM Level 3 or 5 Certificate had been promoted while attending the course. Also, the majority of the total student group (78%) believed that the ILM course had given them better skills and more confidence.”
