NRC are Painting the Colleges PINK in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland

Friday

NRC campuses turned pink on Thursday 25th October in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

Each of the campuses got into the pink spirit by having pink tea parties, pink raffles and pink nail painting, all to raise vital funds for local women affected by breast cancer.   Rosie Hassin, a community fundraising officer for Cancer Focus, says, “All money raised for Cancer Focus will be spent locally, continuing to support people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland. Cancer Focus is committed to tackling cancer by supporting research, providing care services for cancer patients and their families and educating people on how they can reduce their risk of cancer.”

Breast Cancer is now the most common form of cancer in women in Northern Ireland with more than 1,200 women diagnosed with the disease each year, but survival rates are steadily improving. Today, there are around 11,000 women with a diagnosis of breast cancer living in Northern Ireland.
