NRC Apprentices put their skills to the test at Skillbuild 2014

Thursday

Two Ballymoney NRC apprentices are set to compete in the brickwork category at Skillbuild 2014 next week. NRC hopefuls Joel Lamont and Jordan Douglas have put in weeks of intensive training in the hope of bringing home the gold in this prestigious competition.

Skillbuild NI run by CITB-ConstructionSkills NI is held annually each spring, with the top local construction apprentices competing to win coveted titles ranging from brickwork to wall and floor tiling. The winners may then go on to represent Northern Ireland in the Skills Show UK and potentially at WorldSkills.

For further information on careers available in the Construction Industry please come to the ‘NRC Information Evening on Careers in Construction’ at the Coleraine campus, on Monday, 12 May from 5pm to 7pm.  Expert staff will be on hand to advise you on the broad range of construction courses on offer at the College from Work Based Learning/Apprenticeships; Level 3 BTEC Extended Diplomas (A Level equivalent courses) and Degree level courses.
