But before the old buildings are razed to the ground, there will be one last chance for anyone with links to the College to take a nostalgic trip back in time.
The College will be throwing open its doors on Monday March 23 to give local people an opportunity to go on a trip down memory lane. There will be a chance to explore the former classrooms and workshops and view College memorabilia and old photos from down through the years. There will also be an opportunity to see the College’s exciting plans for the new campus.
Professor Terri Scott, Principal and Chief Executive of Northern Regional College said: “While we are very focussed on the new-build and the wonderful academic and holistic opportunities that it will bring, the campus’ rich history and its many successes should not be forgotten.
“It is important that we reflect on our shared history so I’m delighted to invite anyone who may be interested to share their photographs or stories about their time at the College and to come along to the reunion event on March 23.”
During the construction of the new campus, the College will be temporarily relocated to the former St Joseph’s College in Beresford Avenue in Coleraine which will be promoted as the campus address for all Coleraine courses from September 2020.
The new campus is being developed with a £37m investment by the Department for the Economy.
