Northern Regional College makes senior appointment

Northern Regional College has appointed Professor Martin McKinney as Vice-Principal responsible for Teaching & Learning and in charge of the College’s four academic departments and student services across its six campuses. Currently Head of School of Computing and Information Engineering at Ulster University, Professor McKinney will take up his position at the College in May.

Professor McKinney is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has considerable  experience as an external examiner and assessor in the FE and HE sectors in the UK, Ireland and internationally.

Professor Terri Scott, Principal and Chief Executive of Northern Regional College, said: “I am delighted to welcome Professor McKinney to the senior leadership team at the College. He brings extensive experience in developing curriculum and nurturing innovation to improve the student experience. Professor McKinney has been at the forefront of initiatives to break down barriers to higher education for those from non-traditional and low participation sections of the community . We are all looking forward to him bringing his many talents and skills to the College.”

Commenting on his appointment Professor McKinney said: “I am excited  to be joining the leadership team at Northern Regional College at a time when the College is focused on innovation and expansion. I look forward to playing my part in supporting the exciting plans for growth.”
