Northern Regional College first achieved the Matrix Standard with a focus on Careers Advice and Guidance in 2015. Dr Laura Firth, Head of Quality, Exams & Student Experience at the College explained why the decision was taken to broaden the scope of this year’s assessment, "The Student Services team at the College were keen extend the Matrix assessment to include the full range of student support services on offer to our students, that provide that impartial advice, guidance and support across the key College areas of Education Support, Student Finance, Careers, Libraries, Student Engagement, and Health & Well-being, These are fundamental core functions of the College that are key to the success of our students and for the College in achieving its key objectives."
Stephen McCartney, Head of Student Services at the College said that achieving the Matrix Standard reinforced Northern Regional College’s commitment to its students and other stakeholders in the provision of high quality, impartial advice and guidance.

Since being awarded the Matrix Standard for Careers Advice and Guidance in 2015, we have strived to improve and made excellent progress in the areas identified for further development.”
