Northern and Southern Retailers Pursuing NRC Foundation Degree Qualification for Employees

NRC’s Foundation Degree in Retailing has got off to another flying start this year, attracting students from both sides of the border. The qualification, which is specifically designed for the retail sector, aims to enhance leadership and management skills with employees in this industry.

The degree course, which is an award of the University of Ulster, is a two year work-based programme delivered on-line and supported by group seminars and Master Classes. The course offered at NRC, is delivered by a consortium of specialist tutors, from the six Northern Ireland Colleges.

Anne Birt- Macartney NRC’s Curriculum Manager in Business welcomed the new cohort of students who are employed by Tesco and the Henderson Group throughout Ireland. She commented that “Retail is a global and dynamic industry with innovative new ideas and new markets constantly emerging. The innovative e-learning course has been very well received by the retail industry and it is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this competitive sector.”
