“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the College. It was a stepping stone to university and I couldn’t recommend it enough,” she said.
Now a second year undergraduate at Ulster University where she is doing a degree in International Travel and Tourism Management, Holly encouraged the students to make the most of their work placements. Holly told the students that she secured valuable work placements at Belfast International Airport and Galgorm Resort and Spa which helped her build connections in the industry.
She completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma in summer 2018 with an overall Distinction profile - the equivalent of 3 As at A level. Due to her drive, enthusiasm and commitment to her studies, she was selected to represent the College on a study visit to Vuselela VET College in South Africa.
At Ulster, Holly has continued to impress: she was on the Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement and is Faculty representative for Ulster Business School.
Travel and Tourism lecturer, Karen McLeod said Holly was an exemplary student.
“Holly's work was always of the highest standard and her attendance and attitude to her studies throughout her two-year Travel and Tourism programme were excellent so I’m delighted to see that she continuing to excel at university. I wish her every success and I’m sure she has a bright future ahead of her.”
Travel and Tourism students at Northern Regional College have an opportunity to complete additional qualifications. During her time at the College, Holly achieved certificates in Airline and Airport Customer Care, Airline and Airport Passenger Service Agent Skills, as well as World Host qualifications - Principles of Customer Service, Ambassador programme and Services Across Cultures.
