Ross is one of a team of successful professional flower arranging competitors representing Northern Ireland Group of Flower Arrangement Societies (NIGFAS) at this prestigious event. Ross and her team will be staging a twenty foot square floral creation in the famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show Grand Pavilion. This team is the best in Northern Ireland, many of the team including Ross have competed at Hampton Court and at Local, National and International floral events winning many awards.
Ross commented, “I am really delighted to be taking part in this event, we have been working very hard with late nights and week-end work and fingers crossed we will do all who love flowers in Northern Ireland very proud”.
The theme for this year’s entry is entitled, “A Green Thought in a Green Shade” and is taken from a poem by seventeenth century poet Andrew Marvell inspired by his visits to Mount Stewart Gardens. All plant material used is locally sourced.
Darlene Hagan-Bezgin, curriculum manager for Art and Design said” We are delighted Ross is part in this wonderful event, we wish her and all the rest of the NIGFAS team every success and here’s hoping they return with the gold”.
