Northern Regional College Art and Design students recently received an inspiring and informative talk on Public Sculpture by Ross Wilson, one of Ireland’s best known and respected Artists.
As part of the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma Art and Design course, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, we recognise the importance of building specialist features into the programme such as guest speakers, visits to exhibitions and opportunity to participate in live projects/competitions. These integral elements give student’s practical on hand experience and knowledge about their chosen subject area.
Ross commented, “I am delighted to speak and share my passion of Public Sculpture to young, up and coming Artists who are at the start of their exciting career journey. Today is a great opportunity to outline just one of career paths that studying Art & Design can lead to and hopefully having disclosed my own personal journey will inspire some students into the creative world of sculpture.”
