Judy McConnell, NRC Media Lecturer said “It was fantastic to welcome three very distinguished guests into the class, they were very inspirational and it has given the students an incredible insight into the industry. They have learned so much from their experiences and we appreciate the time they have taken from their busy schedules, to provide the students with invaluable information.”

Both Andrew Wilson and Phil Crothers began their media education journey in Further Education with Andrew attending Newtownabbey Technical College. Between them, they have worked on some the most successful feature film productions, television dramas, commercial advertising projects which have been produced in Northern Ireland. Judy added “The list is extremely impressive, many people will recognise productions such as The Fall, Game of Thrones, Killing Bono, Veronica Guerin, Middleton, Hunger, Breakfast on Pluto, Ballykissangel, Reign of Fire and Angela’s Ashes. Currently on our television screens, there is an excellent example of one of Phil’s commercial advertising projects for the Health & Safety, Farm commercial.”

The students had plenty of questions for the guests and it was an incredible opportunity for the aspiring film and production enthusiasts to pick up plenty of career tips.
