Engineering Students sweep the boards at F1 in Schools Competition.

Level 3 Engineering Students from the Northern Regional College have been awarded 1st place in Northern Ireland in the Formula 1 in Schools Competition organised by Sentinus.

The team made up of six students who all study at the Ballymena Campus were not only the overall winners but the picked up Best Team Identity, Best Team Sponsorship and Marketing.  The team will now progress to the 2016 F1 in Schools UK National Final to be held in ‘Silverstone’ on the ‘20th-21st April 2016’.

The student team was made up of six Level 3 engineering students, Jack Cunningham, Gregory Hewitt, Kundan Chaudhary, Anna Delargy, Joshua Pyper and Harry McCrory.

Engineering tutor at Northern Regional College, Darren Houston said, “This has been a fantastic opportunity for the students to get hands on engineering and marketing experience.  This is an intensive competition and the students have worked extremely hard to get this far.  We are now looking forward to taking things to the next level at the UK Finals.”
