Engineering Companies Complete NRC Industrial Training Programme

Local SME Engineering companies recently completed a bespoke industrial training programme at the Northern Regional College’s Ballymena Campus. The seven week programme, Mechanical to Electrical Upskilling Maintenance programme runs for fourteen days over 2 days per week at the cutting edge facilities within the Farm Lodge Campus.

This course aims to equip mechanical maintenance engineers with a range of electrical maintenance skills to allow them to conduct routine electrical maintenance tasks safely and efficiently and is available to all SME’s throughout Northern Ireland.

Representatives from Michelin (Ballymena), Greiner Packaging Limited (Dungannon), SDC Trailers (Toome), MDF Engineering (Antrim) and Kilwaughter Chemical Company Limited (Larne) were the most recent group of local SMEs to have successfully completed this course.

Dr Brian Hill, Head of School of Engineering & Science explained, “This training is specifically tailored, with their agreement, to meet the maintenance engineering requirements of manufacturing companies in NI and has proved to be highly effective for engineers following completion and implementation within their company environment”
