Claire Nutt (Schrader Training Co-ordinator) delivered a company overview describing the current expansion underway at both Antrim (head-quarters) and Carrickfergus manufacturing plants to meet the increasing global demand for their TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems). After getting fully ‘suited and booted’ students were then given a full manufacturing plant tour and were able to ask plenty of questions about products and processes. Gail Smith (Schrader Training Manager) then led a seminar/discussion on career paths for entry to Schrader Electronics. The students were very impressed with the whole event and in particular NRC student Jordan Bell who has been successful in securing an engineering internship, through the Career Academy (Engineering) programme, with Schrader Electronics for summer 2014. During these behind the scenes tours/seminars students are able to see the relevance of their studies at first hand. Thanks to Schrader Electronics who participate fully in the NRC Career Academy (Engineering) with representation on the Local Advisory Board.
