Could you be the next Richard Branson?

Friday

If you ever dreamt about being your own boss at the head of a successful business empire, read on as this could be your chance to see if you’ve got what it takes to be the next Richard Branson. Northern Regional College, in partnership with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is hosting a business challenge event at the Farm Lodge campus, Ballymena on Tuesday November 14. It is one of a series of events hosted by business support organisations throughout the borough to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017.

The Rural Youth Entrepreneurship (RYE) Challenge is inviting young people with business ideas to take part in workshops focusing on business start-ups. The workshops will be supported with RYE resources and a RYE online support platform with useful information on audits, case studies of Northern Ireland businesses, factsheets and a pitching portal.

Career Officer, Una O’Kane, one of the organisers of the event said it’s an ideal opportunity to budding entrepreneurs to network and get some expert advice.

"Participants will be helped to create a full business plan. An international investor network has been established as part of the programme which will allow access to a range of potential investors and opportunities."

Una added: "All participants will be entered into the Northern Ireland Regional final. The winners of the overall Northern Ireland final will then travel to Lapland to take part in the RYE Cool Awards in January 2018.
