Raymond McCracken completed the ICT Essential Skills course at Coleraine in September explained “When I joined My Coleraine night-class I had no idea that I would be using the Office Microsoft Programs to such practical effect. I was asked to plan and present a trip using Word, Excel, Access, Internet, Email and Power-point. I decided to plan a visit to the grave of my late great grandfather in France. He died during the war, in active service. I was amazed by the usefulness of the internet for research and discovered far more than my family had been able to tell me.
Each week I uncovered more information including newspaper articles detailing his service and death. The lasting memory of the course will always be the internet details of my great grandfather’s last moments and heartfelt sentiments of his colleagues. “He died during heavy shelling, a brave and honest soldier”. I found the whole course very enjoyable and aside from the personal element I will benefit from my new found skills within the work place. I hope to visit my great grandfather’s grave some day.”
Kathleen Mullan Head of School for Essential Skills at NRC comments that “This popular and rewarding course is nationally recognised and can be achieved at a range of levels to suit the individual, from those who are complete beginners to an achievement at Level 2, which is comparable to GCSE standard. We would encourage anyone who would like to develop their ICT to contact Central Admissions on 028 7034 0115.”
