Course Content
This award is designed for technicians who maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicle's high & low voltage electrical system and electric drive train system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers.
In order to complete the course participants will be required to complete a selection of:
- Oral assessments (Units EV2.1)
- Observation by assessors
- Practical tasks
Course Aims
This course is designed for those with mechanical experience who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and will be delivered over 2 days.
Learners must be at least aged 18 years of age on or before 1 July 2021, resident of Northern Ireland and eligible to work in the UK and already have appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 2.
Individuals who complete this qualification will be able to progress on to the Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
