Course Aims
Learn the skills you need to begin a career in a business environment. The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, and practical training in the field of digital learning and business such as: Businesses operating online, customer relations, creating a marketing plan. Students will also complete ICT Level 2 Essential Skills to enhance their all-round IT skills and apply these to a business setting.
Special Features
- Visits to local businesses for an insight into the world of business and the digital environment.
- Visiting speakers will also attend from the IT and digital sectors.
- Students may complete a work placement in a Business/IT environment.
Assessment Methods
Assignments and portfolio building. No external examinations.
Students should possess Minimum 4 GCSEs D-G. Students who have not gained English and Mathematics at grade C or above will be required to attend the Essential Skills classes in Numeracy and Communication.
In circumstances where there are more applications for the course than there are places available, the College reserves the right to select candidates from those achieving the highest grades.
To full-time employment in the ICT and business sector or to Level 3 Business and ICT courses.

All full-time students at the Northern Regional College have the opportunity to improve their English, Maths and IT skills and gain qualifications. The qualification you take will depend on the qualification you already have. If you do not have a grade C or above in GCSE English, Maths or ICT, you MUST do Essential Skills. This will form a compulsory part of your timetable.
