Course Content
- Ensure Responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
- Fulfil salon reception duties
- Develop and Maintain effectiveness at work
- Promote additional services or products to clients
- Provide facial skin care treatment
- Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
- Carry out waxing services
- Provide manicure services
- Provide pedicure treatments
- Provide make-up services
- Provide Nail Art
If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade C or above in Maths and/or English you will be required to complete the relevant Essential Skills qualification. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.
Special Features
- Industrial trips to spas and trade beauty shows may be included, both to enhance and compliment the mandatory units and to facilitate industrial requirements.
- Salon experience is desirable but not compulsory.
- Uniform and kit purchase is mandatory.
Assessment Methods
The summative assessments for the qualifications require the candidates to undertake:
- Practical tasks, and
- Knowledge and understanding task(s) and online testing
Course Update
Please note that due to ongoing major campus construction projects courses at Ballymena, Coleraine and Ballymoney may be relocated to alternative suitable locations as required.
Applicants should have at least 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or other relevant qualifications. In circumstances where there are more applications for the course than there are places available, the College reserves the right to ask for higher grades.
