This course is fully funded by the Department for the Economy, under the Skill Up Programme. This course is a part of a suite of free online accredited courses that the College is offering to upskill, retrain and gain a qualification with no costs associated.
Course Content
The aim of the OCN NI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work in roles that support mental health and well-being. The learners will also develop an awareness of mental health interventions and support strategies.
The objectives of the OCN NI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being qualification are to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to enable them to:
- Understand mental health and mental illness.
 - Understand the impact of mental illness.
 - Be aware of mental health interventions and support.
 - Understand the person-centred approach to mental health improvement and the legislative framework.
 
Learners must be at least aged 18 years of age on or before 1 July 2021, resident of Northern Ireland and eligible to work in the UK.
